Is the bamboo staff safe for children?
Absolutely. We use specially treated lightweight bamboo staffs sized correctly for each child's height, and all rotations are taught incrementally for safety.
Is it only for boys?
Not at all. Silambam is historically inclusive and is excellent for girls to build upper body strength, agility, and defensive confidence.
How long does it take to learn?
Basic rotations can be mastered in 3 months, while complex defensive patterns and weapon mastery are part of our multi-year curriculum.
